1. My favorite historical character is Mary Golda Ross, a Cherokee Native from Oklahoma. Not only was she a math and science teacher, Ross had stars in her eyes. She joined Lockheed Martin's think tank and paved the way for Native-Americans to enter space travel.

2. We must judge the past through the lens of today. Why? Because we learn from events of the past. If we forget, we are doomed to repeat them. Perfect example is the 1921 Race Massacre in Tulsa, OK. Teaching our children now may ensure it will never happen again.
