Forty-three years ago I was deemed unable to care for my biracial child because I was a teenage unwed mother according to societal norms. However, I stood against the world and my family and kept my baby. It was hard because I was alone. Now, I am a Great-grandmother of a tribe of 5,13,1 biological and many more who are not.
